"We are dedicated to the Preservation of the Garifuna language, culture, history and wellbeing."

Your kind donation in financial assistance will help GAHFU to establish a Garifuna Community Cultural and Resource Center. We are in need of donated rental and/or shared space or building to permanently house the Garifuna Community Center that is desperately needed in the Los Angeles County area to serve the Garifuna, Caribbean and Central American Community. The community center will feature cultural enrichment programs through the Clifford J. Palacio Language and Culture Academy like: Garifuna language, history, traditional dancing, drumming and singing classes, Garifuna culinary art, sewing traditional clothing workshop and many other things. It will also house an Garifuna exhibition gallery, library and computer center. We are currently in need of desks, tables and chairs for the Garifuna classes.

Your kind donation in time and/or financial assistance will allow us to continue the Language Preservation Program, Cultural Program, Garifuna Legacy Project and the GAHFU Giving Program which provides aid relief to the several schools and hospitals in Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. In addition, your monetary donation is greatly needed to develop and carry out several projected programs like; the Community Health Initiative Program, Youth Program, Senior Program, and Community Development Program.
Donations are also need for the production, distribution and showcase of Garifuna music and the arts. Your donation will provide mentoring programs and provide scholarships to socio-economically disadvantaged Garifuna children in California and in Central America.

Your donation will be greatly appreciated and it will make a difference in the preservation of the Garifuna culture in North America and Central America. GAHFU is an exempt organization under section 501 ( c) (3) and all donations are tax deductible.  A voluntary board of directors provides guidance and oversight for GAHFU activities. Your generous donation will allow us to continue to serve the community and to preserve the rich Garifuna heritage. Please make checks or money orders payable to GAHFU, Inc. Seremein-Thank you.
